Concrete walls, overhead light
A board-formed concrete residence in Mexico: two towering walls frame the sky, and inside, skylight falls across a double-height space with a timber stair and an indoor tree.
Two board-formed concrete walls frame the sky and set the scale of the place. From the street the house reads as a minimal gesture: solid planes, without ornament, that shelter the life inside.
Inside, bands of overhead light sweep across a double-height space. The timber stair rises beside a tree that grows toward the skylight, and the light moves across walls and floor throughout the day.
Concrete, wood and planting are the only leading materials: the house relies on proportion and light to move the people who live in it.
